What is CareerNavigator?
CareerNavigator is career guidance software designed to be used as an aid or tool to assist good career decision making. It enables exploration of personal and job factors relevant to career decision-making, helps clarify suitable career opportunities, establishes guidelines for exploration of relevant occupational information, and facilitates realistic career planning.

Who should use CareerNavigator?
Anyone needing career guidance. It is especially suitable for those facing career change and the need to make decisions, including people involved with job change, completion of education or training programs, returning to the workforce, redundancies, etc. It is not particularly recommended for children under the age of fifteen years.

How will CareerNavigator.com.au help me?

This user friendly software will help me:

How secure is CareerNavigator?
The CareerNavigator website uses a 128-bit encryption when processing your registration, payment, log in, and use of the software. Anywhere you enter private information you are accessing a secure section of careernavigator.com.au.

How long can I access the software for?
Thirty days (unless alternative arrangements are entered into with JIIG-CAL Australia).

Are there any age restrictions?
No, but the software is more suitable for people fifteen years and over.

Which country is the software designed for?
Australia. However in the increasingly global economy, labour markets and associated career guidance are becoming increasingly similar. Much of our software is generic and may be suitable for people seeking career guidance in other countries.

How much does it cost?
Twenty five Australian dollars (approx. $US14.50)

Can organisations make bulk purchases?
Yes. Pricing information can be found here. For more information, contact JIIG-CAL Australia.

What methods of payment are accepted?
At present we accept the following credit cards: Visa, Mastercard, and Bankcard.

If you wish to pay by cheque that is fine, just mail your cheque to JIIG-CAL Australia (postal details available here) and we will activate your account within 24 hours of receipt of your cheque.

Can I find a job using CareerNavigator?
No, this is career guidance software which people usually access prior to applying for jobs.

Will CareerNavigator find me a course at TAFE or university?
No, you need to check with individual institutions. Usually you would do this after you have clarified your career goals, eg once you have completed CareerNavigator.

What computer software and hardware do I need?
You just need a computer with Internet connection and Web browser (Internet Explorer 5 or above for optimal viewing). Basically, if you’ve got this far then you will be able to access all sections of the site.

What is Thawte?
Thawte provides CareerNavigator with a 128-bit encryption security which enables secure processing of your payment. This can be confirmed by clicking anywhere that you see the Thawte logo. For more information please visit the Thawte site.

Do I have to pay by creditcard?
No, you can fill in the registration page and select the Cheque/Money Order option for your method of payment. Then mail your cheque with your details to JIIG-CAL Australia and your account will be activated when your cheque is cleared.

CareerNavigator does not open when I click on the "Start CareerNavigator" button
Please make sure that you have turned off any firewalls that may be automatically blocking pop-ups or disable this option. This may also be caused when installing the latest MSN toolbar. Please make sure the default option to block pop-ups has been disabled.

Also check that you have cookies enabled on your browser. For Internet Explorer users go to Tools, Internet Options, Privacy and check your cookies setting.
